Teach the standard at the workstation (TWI)
Train each person in the standard where they work, with TWI’s job instruction method, until they do it alone, right and on time.

What hurts today.
The procedure is sent by email and taken as taught.
Each person learns from a coworker, bad habits included.
Nobody knows who is trained in what.
A standard on paper changes nothing if nobody learned it. TWI’s job instruction teaches at the workstation in four steps: prepare the person, show them the task with its key points, have them do it and correct them, and follow up until they do it alone. An engineer or a supervisor trained as an instructor does it, one person at a time, and then records who was trained in the skills matrix.
Done today with
- On the floor
- Paper and whiteboard
- Spreadsheet
Each step, today and with Elmira.
She does not: teaching at the workstation needs being there, with the person.

The conversation
No example conversation: the Obeyaka web app does it, or it comes later.
Does this happen to your team?
Book a demo and we will show you Elmira doing this task.
More cases of processes and standards
- Audit compliance with the standard (layered audits)The results stay on paper nobody adds up.
- Run the 5S audits and follow up their findingsThe order lasts until the next audit.
- Map a process end to end (SIPOC)“The process” means something different to each person.
