How it is done today

What hurts today.

  • A typo reaches the traffic light and the meeting, and someone decides with it.

  • The months without a figure are noticed late, when nobody remembers the number anymore.

  • Fixing it in the spreadsheet erases the old value, and nobody knows what changed.

A figure recorded wrong (a misplaced decimal point, a repeated month, a figure that never came) ends up in the traffic light and in the meeting, and someone decides with it. So before the month closes, the analyst checks the indicators one by one: looks for the periods without a value and the values that do not fit their history, finds out who recorded them, asks and fixes. It is detective work, and there is rarely time to do it for all of them.

Each step, today and with Elmira.

Ask Elmira what is missing or odd: she shows you the periods without a value, the odd values and who recorded each one, and fixes the one you tell her without losing the history. When a period ends without a value, Obeyaka tells the team leader on its own.

  1. Matías, continuous improvement analyst

Elmira, is anything odd in Quality’s indicators for September?

  2. Two things. “Customer complaints” has no value for September. And “Scrap rate” shows 32 for September, when from June to August it stayed between 2.9 and 3.4: it looks like a misplaced decimal point. Pedro recorded it on October 2.

  3. Matías, continuous improvement analyst

Pedro confirmed it was 3.2. Please fix it.

  4. I did this:

Corrected “Scrap rate” for September 2026: from 32 to 3.2.
